Goodbye and God Bless
Bleeding Martyr first originated in January 2004 after lead singer/guitarist Danny Robles, guitarist Jared Wright, and drummer Jon Brubaker united with bassist Sean Armitage, following the separation of their former unsuccessful band Falling Autumn.
The band chose the name Bleeding Martyr in May 2004 after playing four months under their old name Falling Autumn. The name was chosen as a reminder to all that Jesus Christ died an excruciating death on the cross for mankind's freedom from the bondage of sin and that those who come to Him in repentance can receive eternal life.
Bleeding Martyr recorded with Jim Kendall at Ambush Recording Studio between February and April 2005 and self-released their very first EP entitled "Burial Suits Don't Come With Pockets" in May 2005. The CD took on quick success with a number of fans and music promoters instantly falling in love with their style.
In December 2005, the band added their close friend James Karner to play synthesizer in order to establish a fuller and more original sound. At that point, the band was also beginning to write new music and they were aiming to make another attempt at recording in the near future.
However, the band hit a number of road blocks and had their share of ups and downs over the past year and a half. Venues and show opportunities began to die down, different members got busy and overbooked at times, and the new music wasn't fitting right and it became increasingly frustrating to move forward and write different and better material. There were multiple points where the band didn't even practice or play a show for months on end. Throughout the '06/'07 school year, there was only one new song completed and only about three show opportunities that came up.
Within the past couple of months, the members realized that the vision they once had when they began had unfortunately changed significantly. As Bleeding Martyr tried to get back on track and start fresh in April 2007 after playing their first show in five months, it was all too obvious that things had changed and members could not agree on the same direction and the same overall goal.
Therefore, it saddens each of us to say that Bleeding Martyr is coming to an end. While many lives were hopefully touched by the band's positive and encouraging message and presence, we have full confidence that it is far better for each of us to move forward and see what the future holds for our individual lives. We thank God that He could use a group of imperfect guys to forward His kingdom for a time and even as the band comes to a close, we still hope that the message of our music can touch people for years to come.
It has been a long and satisfying road for each of us. If anyone would have told Bleeding Martyr three and a half years ago that we would have a professionally recorded CD, play over 30 live shows in three different states, radio appearances, and fans all across the country, none of us would have believed it. God truly blessed us by allowing us to have that type of experience. It is one that many dream of but will never actually see.
Although Bleeding Martyr is not moving forward, there are plans in the making for a final "farewell" show that will hopefully be taking place sometime in late 2007/early 2008. We will keep everyone posted about it because it will definitely be a show that we do not want you to miss! Until that time, keep your eyes and ears open because we'd love for you to be a part of our goodbye!
Finally, we'd like to thank all who made this journey an amazing one! God, our parents, Greg Henkin, Justin Essenpreis, Jim Kendall, our friends, our fans, the bands we played with, the people that booked us, and anyone else who helped us get as far as we did.
God Bless

Hey guys! It's been awhile but we'll be back with a benefit show on Friday, April 20th at Immanuel Church in Gurnee. It will be our first show since October and we hope to play something new! Other than that, there isn't anything scheduled but we'll be working on booking some shows in May and June. God Bless!

Hey everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates! We are at the point right now where we need to take a break from shows and get back to the basics. We all decided that it's best for us to start from scratch and start writing all new material. We are working on numerous riffs and ideas at the moment in order to record a 5-8 track EP hopefully within the next year. At this point, there is no set release date because we don't want to feel rushed into a style that isn't us. We are taking our time to make what we feel will be the most passionate music we can create. Therefore, we will most likely not be playing any shows for the rest of 2006 (besides the WTHS Variety Show), but when we get some shows booked, we will definitely let you all know! Thanks everybody!
God Bless!

Well Rock in the Park was a huge success! We all had a great time and we're sure that everybody that came out had a great time too! It went a lot better than last year, so we're hoping for a Rock in the Park 3 next year!!
Our new shirts got a lot of positive feedback and are selling quickly (thanks to Justin Essenpreis and his awesome designing skills!). And our next show is on September 9th in Michigan! We can't wait! It will be our first (and hopefully not our last) trip to Michigan.
God Bless!
